  62. phone  phreaking  and hacking military

  98. {>  The  book  is  based  on  the  radio
  99. series.   If  you haven`t read this or
  100. have  listened  to the radio series or
  101. seen  the  TV series try it, without a
  102. doubt  you`ll  love  it.  Probably the
  103. best one out of the series.  Basically
  104. the  story  involves  Arthur  Dent, an
  105. earthling   being   rescued   by  Ford
  106. Prefect,  from  a  small planet in the
  107. vicinity of Betelgeuse when the Vogons
  108. come   to   destroy  the  Earth  so  a
  109. hyperspace  bypass  can be built.  The
  110. main   part  of  the  story  is  about
  111. Arthur`s  adventures in space.  Simply
  112. if  you`ve  not  got it yet go and get
  113. it.   You might like to read the whole
  114. series  of  five  books (Hitch Hikers,
  115. Restaurant At The End Of The Universe,
  116. Life,  The Universe And Everything, So
  117. Long  And  Thanks For All The Fish and
  118. finally  Mostly  Harmless)  but  in my
  119. opinion the best is the first.

  145. wide  ranging  in cases choosing to be
  146. more   select   and   describe   three
  147. hackers.    The  book  covers  similar
  148. ground  to  Approaching Zero and to be
  149. honest if you`ve read Approaching Zero
  150. there  isn`t much in here left.  Still
  151. well written and worth a browse.

  164. {:  A  ground  breaking  book describing
  165. Daniken`s   theory   that   the   gods
  166. mentioned  in  all  the  worlds sacred
  167. books  for every religion were in fact
  168. extra terrestrials in spaceships.  The
  169. book   goes   into   much  detail  and
  170. justifies  its claims by using quotes,
  171. some  of which seem to prove without a
  172. doubt  the  theory  is true.  The book
  173. was  written about in the second issue
  174. of  Visual  Intensity so read that for
  175. some  more  detail.   Well written and
  176. certainly worth a read.

  185. {:  The   book  goes  further  than  the
  186. Chariots of the Gods and provides even
  187. more  detail and gives some answers to
  188. the critics of his theory.  The theory
  189. in  brief  is  that in prehistoric and
  190. early  historic  times  the  Earth was
  191. visited  by  unknown  beings  from the
  192. Cosmos.   These unknown beings created
  193. human  intelligence  by  a  deliberate
  194. genetic     mutation.     The    extra
  195. terrestials   ennobled   hominids  'in
  196. their  own  image'.  These visits were
  197. recorded and handed down in religions,
  198. mythologies and popular legends and in
  199. some   places   ET`s   left   physical
  200. evidence  of  their presence on Earth.

  211. {:  Not  a  reading  book  as  such  but
  212. anyone  who is doing A Level Computers
  213. or college work involving Pascal would
  214. be  wise  to  check this book out.  As
  215. well  as  showing  you all the basics,
  216. the book explains linked lists, queues
  217. and   pointers,  records,  random  and
  218. sequential    access,    sorting   and
  219. searching  of  all  data types and all
  220. those  things  you didn`t get when the
  221. {td{:teacher explained it to you.  The book
  222. also  contains  two  full case studies
  223. done   in   OOP   (Object   Orientated
  224. Programming!)  which  could be useful.
  225. Not  too expensive when you compare it
  226. with  the other reference books on the
  227. subject which are around £25-40.

  236. {:  One of the best cyberpunk novels and
  237. actually  the  first  book  to use the
  238. word.   The  book basically involves a
  239. computer  hacker called Case who links
  240. up  to  the  computer  and  hacks  for
  241. someone  who  keeps  him alive because
  242. Japanese experts have implanted little
  243. sacs  of  poison in his brain.  It won
  244. the  Hugo  award, the Nebula award and
  245. Philip  K  Dick memorial award.  Maybe
  246. not  to  everyone's liking but read it
  247. so you know what it's like.

  264. reporting  is  comprehensive  and  the
  265. {td{:book  makes  the  possibility  of  the
  266. existance   of   UFOs  more  and  more
  267. likely.    Worth   reading,   I  might
  268. suggest  you  know  a  bit  about  the
  269. subject first.
