try one or two of these.

{6Title : Above Top Secret
Author : Timothy Good
Type : Non fiction/Cosmology
Subject : Worldwide coverup of UFO`s
ISBN : 0-586-20361-3
Cost : 7.99 [Paperback]
{: A detailed book including recently
declassified official papers and a
large number of reliable witnesses
sighting reports. Although UFO`s
might seem to you a hoax or purely
science fiction, read the book and
discover another angle, I know I did.

{6Title : Approaching Zero
Author : Bryan Clough & Paul Mungo
Type : Non fiction
Subject : Hacking/Computer underworld
ISBN : 0-571-16813-2
Cost : 4.99 [Paperback]
{: One of the best books describing
hacking and phreaking. Many famous
cases are included and anyone who uses
a computer will probably find
something of interest. The book runs
through all types of data crime from
the threat of viruses and worms to
phone phreaking and hacking military
computers.

{6Title : The New Hacker's Dictionary
(2nd edition)
Author : Eric S Raymond
Type : Non fiction
Subject : A dictionary of hacker slang
ISBN : 0-262-68079-3
Cost : 12.95 [Paperback]
{: Originally an internet file, this
list of hacker terms/acronyms has been
lengthened and lots of history/facts
and explainations have been added.
The book has some neat computer
related cartoons in as well. Worth a
look but not one you`ll read again and
again.

{6Title : The Hitch Hiker's Guide to
the Galaxy
Author : Douglas Adams
Type : Science fiction
Subject : N/A
ISBN : 0-330-25864-8
Cost : ? (mine`s very old)
{> The book is based on the radio
series. If you haven`t read this or
have listened to the radio series or
seen the TV series try it, without a
doubt you`ll love it. Probably the
best one out of the series. Basically
the story involves Arthur Dent, an
earthling being rescued by Ford
Prefect, from a small planet in the
vicinity of Betelgeuse when the Vogons
come to destroy the Earth so a
hyperspace bypass can be built. The
main part of the story is about
Arthur`s adventures in space. Simply
if you`ve not got it yet go and get
it. You might like to read the whole
series of five books (Hitch Hikers,
Restaurant At The End Of The Universe,
Life, The Universe And Everything, So
Long And Thanks For All The Fish and
finally Mostly Harmless) but in my
opinion the best is the first.

{6Title : Cyberpunk
Author : Katie Hafter & John Markoff
Type : Non fiction
Subject : Hacking
ISBN : 0-552-13963-7
Cost : 5.99 [Paperback]
{: The book is on similar lines as
Approaching Zero, however it is not as
wide ranging in cases choosing to be
more select and describe three
hackers. The book covers similar
ground to Approaching Zero and to be
honest if you`ve read Approaching Zero
there isn`t much in here left. Still
well written and worth a browse.

{6Title : Chariots of the Gods
Author : Erich Von Daniken
Type : Non fiction
Subject : Was God an extra
terrestrial?
ISBN : 0285-503565
Cost : ? (Borrowed from library)
{: A ground breaking book describing
Daniken`s theory that the gods
mentioned in all the worlds sacred
books for every religion were in fact
extra terrestrials in spaceships. The
book goes into much detail and
justifies its claims by using quotes,
some of which seem to prove without a
doubt the theory is true. The book
was written about in the second issue
of Visual Intensity so read that for
some more detail. Well written and
certainly worth a read.
{td{4--------------------------------------
{6Title : According to the Evidence
Author : Erich Von Daniken
Type : Non fiction
Subject : Further proof of his theory
ISBN : 0-285-62301-X
Cost : ? (Borrowed)
{: The book goes further than the
Chariots of the Gods and provides even
more detail and gives some answers to
the critics of his theory. The theory
in brief is that in prehistoric and
early historic times the Earth was
visited by unknown beings from the
Cosmos. These unknown beings created
human intelligence by a deliberate
genetic mutation. The extra
terrestials ennobled hominids 'in
their own image'. These visits were
recorded and handed down in religions,
mythologies and popular legends and in
some places ET`s left physical
evidence of their presence on Earth.
Another book worth a look.

{6Title : Pascal Programming
(2nd edition)
Author : B J Holmes
Type : Non fiction
Subject : Pascal programming
ISBN : 1-870941-65-9
Cost : 11.95 [Paperback]
{: Not a reading book as such but
anyone who is doing A Level Computers
or college work involving Pascal would
be wise to check this book out. As
well as showing you all the basics,
the book explains linked lists, queues
and pointers, records, random and
sequential access, sorting and
searching of all data types and all
those things you didn`t get when the
{td{:teacher explained it to you. The book
also contains two full case studies
done in OOP (Object Orientated
Programming!) which could be useful.
Not too expensive when you compare it
with the other reference books on the
subject which are around £25-40.
{4--------------------------------------
{6Title : Neuromancer
Author : William Gibson
Type : Science fiction
Subject : N/A
ISBN : 0-586-06645-4
Cost : 4.99 [Paperback]
{: One of the best cyberpunk novels and
actually the first book to use the
word. The book basically involves a
computer hacker called Case who links
up to the computer and hacks for
someone who keeps him alive because
Japanese experts have implanted little
sacs of poison in his brain. It won
the Hugo award, the Nebula award and
Philip K Dick memorial award. Maybe
not to everyone's liking but read it
so you know what it's like.
{4--------------------------------------
{6Title : Alien Update
Author : Timothy Good
Type : Non fiction
Subject : Recent UFO sightings and
new theories
ISBN : 0-09-925761-0
Cost : 4.99 [Paperback]
{: The book provides some details on
the latest developments in the UFO
scene with an update by one of the
world's leading experts, Timothy Good,
on recent sightings around the world.
The book also contains articles taken
from various UFO journals. The
reporting is comprehensive and the
{td{:book makes the possibility of the
existance of UFOs more and more
likely. Worth reading, I might
suggest you know a bit about the
subject first.
